Update on Rian

I thought I'd write an update on Rian's teeth and his headaches. His surgery was on August 16th and he is still having quite a bit of pain. He also has quite a big gap between his front 2 teeth (which was supposed to happen). As they turn the key in the appliance in the top of his mouth, the space gets wider. Eventually his braces will move the teeth around until the gap is gone and his teeth are straight. It has been alot for him to go through, but hopefully this will fix his bite so it is easier for him to eat. He is really getting tired of eating soft and liquid foods all the time. He has resorted to eating some baby foods, which Caitlin thinks is really funny. When she sees him eating out of the jars, she fusses for him to give her a bite.

He had injections in the back of his head last week for his headaches. So far they haven't helped much. We go back and see the Dr. on the 1st, so we'll see what he says.

Dog toys and Baby toys

Our dogs are doing really good at leaving Caitlin's toys alone. I don't know how they know what toys are Caitlin's and what toys are theirs, but they do really well. I always said I wondered if it would be the same way with Caitlin. There's no way she can know what is hers and what belongs to the dogs. Well... tonight I was in the kitchen doing dishes and Rian was working at his computer when I heard him yell, "oh no get it out, get it out of her mouth!". I came running into the living room to find Caitlin chewing on a rawhide bone! YUCK! I guess we are going to have to be very careful now that she is more mobile!

6 months

Caitlin's 6 month well baby check-up was today. She weighed 15 lbs 11 ounces and was 26 inches long. She is happy and healthy and there wasn't really much to report to the Dr. We do have to get a new carseat because she is right at the limit for length. In the next few weeks she will outgrow the 26" limit for length.

Almost all the stone and brick is up and they're working to get the front door on.

Sitting all by myself!

Caitlin is now sitting all by herself and she loves to sit and play with her toys! She is pretty steady now and can sit for long periods as long as the dogs don't knock her over or if she tries to reach for a toy that's out of her reach. She is also teething like crazy! Notice the drool in the picture. :)
